Anono
To My Anonymous Friend
“
A week ago I posted about my meeting with Nathaniel's teachers and a man from Barrhead, regarding assessments that were done on him in November. Saturday evening someone posting anonymously, commented on that post by saying...
'Does he have some mental challenges or has this problem come from the fact that he was poorly home schooled? Sad to read something like this when a parents responsibility is to give as much as possible to your children to help them better their lives so they don't have to live in the mistakes of their parents.'
Giving my anonymous friend the benefit of the doubt, and assuming s/he is not insulting our homeschooling efforts or Ian's and my parenting skills... and assuming others who don't know us might be wondering the same thing, I am attempting to answer the question in a new post...
“
Anono is quite fortunate in picking on Willena rather than yours truly.
Foist I has problems with anono critics.
Second I has problems with unfeeling comments.
Thirds …..
Well you get the picture.
Willena is so good.
She is so considerate.
She always sees the best in peoples. “They didn’t really mean it the way it sounded.”
She is intelligent.
She is a good teacher.
She loves life.
She LOVES her children ! !
Sheesh, Anono, couldn’t you have re read that and askkkededd your selfs “is this something that I would NOT like to receive ? ?
I has a quest.
Who decreed that “a parent’s responsibility is to give as much as possible to your children to help them better their lives so they don’t have to live in the mistakes of their parents” ? ?
What is better?
How do you know that you made a mistake ?
How do you know what is the best way for your child to learn?
Did you ever hear the song “a boy named Sue” ?
Have you ever heard a very rich parent declare that all his money will go to charity and his
children will have to learn to make their own fortune if they want one?
Do you know how many of the “nobility” of a few hundred years ago could not read or do math?
What makes reading and doing math superior?
How many university professors do you know who have amassed a personal fortune let alone
moved up to even the middle, middle class.
So what IS important to learn ? ?
So my children get a 'good' education, which is more important – learning achedemia or learning to love people ? Learning to be sympathetic to their feelings? What is the hurry ? I have heard of people 80 years old learning a new language.
So far Nathaniel Loves people.
Isn’t that a good enough place to start ? ?
You mean you didn't even watch Bambi ??? What kind of parents did you have that they made the mistake of not making you watch that?? You might have learned something ...
"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all", Thumper.
the simple question - "why does it seem that Nathaniel is having troubles?" would have been MUCH better !
