Her conscience vrs His authority

“The husband is responsible for the welfare of his family – spiritually…” except when …

“in everything” doesn’t mean every thing . . .

I always wonder what I will say when the Lord of the Church asks why the kids did not follow me rather than her. Adam tried “My wife she . . .” I wonder if that will work again ?

can you read ?

Can you read the Bible?
One of the things that I was taught was when engaged in Bible study, first read what is actually written. The Bible is a very small book, if you remove all the repeated material it is even smaller, which means that one does a lot of reading between the lines and even speculating when one is trying to come to a conclusion on a lot of Bible topics. The Bible raises more questions than it can ever answer, because it is so short and for technical reasons and because we are individual people and because the Bible was written to us individually and because comprehension can only come with the illumination of the Holy Spirit. It is important before trying to interpret what the Bible means that you know what it says !
Two examples
How many animals went onto the ark?
How tall was David when he killed Goliath?

First Noah and the Ark. Gen 6:19-21 7:2-3 8-9 14-16 8:17-19
“of the clean beasts take by sevens the male and his female
unclean by two the male and his female
fowl by sevens the male and his female”

“of the clean . . . and not clean . . . and of the fowl there went in two and two . . . into the ark . . .”

How do you take seven clean animals and seven birds onto the ark by twos ? ? If you read carefully it looks like Noah had fourteen clean animals and birds, seven males and seven females and four unclean animals, two males and two females.

David and Goliath 1Sam 17:23-51 1Sam 16:1- 18:30 11Sam 22:35 / Ps 18:34
 1 God rejected Saul as king of Israel because of his disobedience, and then He sent Samuel down to Bethleham to anoint one of Jesse’s sons to be the next king. Saul was from the tribe of Benjamine and he was “a choise young man and handsome . . . from his shoulders and upward he was taller than any of the people” 1Sam 9:2 Do the math. If there were several families in Israel who were noted for being tall, let us say 6 feet – how tall was Saul to be head and shoulders taller than them ? ? 7’2’’ ? ? suppose that there were a few who were 6’ 6” ? ? ?
 2 When Jesse brought his sons and lined them up in frount of Samuel he was impressed with their height, well with that of the first son, 1Sam 16:7 “the Lord said to Sam ‘Do not look at how good looking he is or how TALL . . .” How tall was tall and was it a family trait ? ?
 3 When the evil spirit troubled Saul his servants thought that music might sooth him. He agreed and one of the servants volunteered the information that there was “a son of Jesse, cunning in playing and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, prudent in matters . .” Of all thirty times that the word ‘valiant’ is used in the O.T. it is used of men not boys. All the times that ‘mighty’ is used it is used to describe men not boys eg 1Sam 9:1 Kish, Saul’s father, was a ‘mighty man of power’ Every time that the phrase ‘a man of war’ is used it means a man, not a boy, who is in the armed forces. This is before David killed Goliath.
 4 After David went to the palace to be Saul’s mucian, David became Saul’s armor bearer, possibly he was one of several. 1Sam 16:21 Armor bearers went into battle with their soldier. Jonathan’s went with him to the Philistine camp 1Sam 14:7-17, Saul tried to get his to kill him at the end of their battle with the Philistines 1Sam 31:4-6. Would the king have some scrony little runt of a kid with no experience for an armour bearer? Even Goliath had his armor bearer with him when he met David 1Sam 17:7
 5 At this time David’s father was notably old. 1Sam 17:12 “Jesse went among men an old man in the days of Saul” This may not mean much since even as an old man he could have had a young second or third wife who would have been David’s mother so just because his father was old did not mean that he was old. David’s three eldest brothers went with Saul to the battle. This could mean that they were not so old or it could mean that they each had their own private mini army of which they were the ‘general’. . .
 6 David reigned a total of fourty years. He was thirty years old when first he began to rule 11 Sam 5:4. How long did he work for and then run from Saul ? The estimations for a man who made a vow ranged from twenty to sixty years old. Lev 27:3 and those who were considered able to go to war were also counted from twenty and up Num 1:3. David was part of the army. If David was twenty he was as tall as he would ever get
 7 Goliath chalenged Israel to give him a man who could fight with him. The army of whom ever lost would become the slaves of the victor’s army. Needless to say, Saul had a lot riding on this chalenge ! His own personal reputation for one thing. He was, being the king not to mention being taller than the rest, one of Israel’s champions. If I were in his place I would not have considered a kid who was less than full grown. I would not likely leave this kind of one on one match in the hands of someone less than a proven champion.
 8 David’s eldest brother Eliab was angry with David 1Sam 17:28. Why ? ? Why would he be angry if David only wanted to watch? The phrase ‘you have come to see the battle’ does not mean ‘to look around’ it means ‘to take part in the action’. Eliab did not accuse David of being to young or to small to join the fight. Was he perhaps a little jealous? He was a champion of Israel but he would not fight Goliath and he did not want to get upstaged by his baby brother ?
 9 Saul did not accuse David of being to small to fight. He did not accuse him of being to young to fight. Saul was comparing David’s experience with that of Goliath. 1Sam 17:33
 10 Saul put armor on David. Whose ? Saul’s ? Would the armor fit? Saul was a big man, taller than David’s older brother! When David took it off he did not imply that it was to big. He said ‘I have not proved it’ 1Sam 17:39.
 11 Goliath did not scorn David for his size or really for his age. It was more for the idacity of such a green unarmed amature chalenging a champion such as he. 1 Sam 17:43-44 Notice as well that it was Goliath who made the first move 1 Sam 17:48. He did not protest the chalenge he accepted it. He must have figured that David was the best that they had to throw at him . . .
 12 David killed Goliath with Goliath’s sword. How many people can actually decapitate a person with a sword ? Decapitate a giant ? With the giant’s own sword ? 1Sam 17:51
 13 David put Goliath’s armor in his tent ? Who’s tent ? David’s ? David was part of the army he had his own tent with the army of Israel. Three questions. How big was the tent ? How did David rate a private tent ? What did he want to keep the armor for ? To use it ? David did not have his own armor.
 14 Saul set David over the men of war that day. 1Sam 18:5
 The next day Saul demoted David from general in charge of the whold army to captain of one thousand. 1Sam 18:13 Even if a fourteen year old five foot boy had just killed a giant would you make him general of your army? Captain of a thousand men?
 15 How long after David killed Goliath did he marry Saul’s daughter ?
 16 After David fled from Saul he went to the tabernacle and as he was leaving he asked for a sword because he did not have one. The priest gave him Goliath’s 1Sam 21:9 David said ‘give it to me for there is none like it’ Would a regular sized man even if he was a good man of war try to use a sword that was custom made for a giant ? David was a champion !
 He broke metal bows 11Sam ‘God teaches my hands to war ; so that a bow of brass is broken by my arms.’ He was not an ordinary GI he was a “mighty valient” man.
I was castegated once for “wasting” time, a whole hour! on this topic at church. My antagonist missed the whole point of the exercise
Can you read ?
Can you read the Bible and see what it says rather than what you think it says ?
Does it make a differance how many animals there were on the ark? Likely not, it turns out that they all got on and when they got off they repopulated the earth. Does it make a differance how old David was and how tall when he killed Goliath? Yes it does ! Because most people think of it being a miracle that David won, he HAD to trust God !. If it was you that was up against Goliath . . . you would have been looking for a machine gun or at least a bolt of lightning, right? The point is David could have gone out in his own strength and possibly won. A sling with a stone that weighed a couple of pounds was a valid weapon. David went out in the name of the Lord, not dependant on his own capable arm ! Take a lesson from David. We are ambasadors for Christ. We do not have our own life or strength or opinion. God wants us to trust Him because we want to not because we have to !

Curious

Isn't it curious. They believe in evolution, they do not believe in creation or the Bible and yet they name their space capsule Genesis! ? Isn't it curious they do not believe in the Bible or creation but they name the DNA liberary on the moon Noah's ark ! ? People are curious creatures. I wonder if it is related to the people who insist that their imediate intimate group whether biologicaly related to them or not are their 'family' ? Or those who insist that in the womb it is a feotus but five min later outside it is a baby ? Or those who insist that a same sex 'union' (?) should be a marriage ? I once asked a lady why she insisted on calling her close up group 'family' is it because of the conotations ? You don't want to loose the bond that you had (she was divorced)? Curious !

Like God. Seriously !

The European Space Agency's chief scientist has said that there should be a Noah's Ark on the Moon, in case the Earth is destroyed by an asteroid or nuclear holocaust. Speaking exclusively to BBC News at the British Association Science Festival, Dr Bernard Foing said that the ark should be a repository for the DNA of every single species of plant and animal.
Dr Foing is head of Europe's Moon missions, so his thoughts on matters lunar should be taken seriously. He is concerned that if the Earth were destroyed, there would be little or nothing left of the rich diversity of life on the planet.
His solution is to build a DNA library on the Moon. "If there were a catastrophic collision on Earth or a nuclear war you could place some samples of Earth's biosphere, including humans, [on the Moon]. You could repopulate the Earth afterwards like a Noah's Ark," he said.
For the time being though, Dr Foing is awaiting the arrival of Europe's first probe to the Moon. That mission is due to arrive ahead of schedule in November. It is the first of what he hopes will be a fleet of robotic spacecraft sent to the Moon. They would be used to build a lunar colony.
How about the good Dr. taking some time out to reverse the judges ruling that the big companies can monopolize food production and that only a few varieties of food? and the genetic enginering that is also restricting the variety of food? and the poachers and the people (rich ones in europe?) who buy from the poachers who are driving up the number of endangered species? Wouldn't that be more profitable than a very expensive very insecure ark on the moon. Who says that if we got it all up there and a war did happen technology would exist to go back and retrieve it?

hologram

Our body is a hologram of our spirit? Do you watch clouds? The advent of the time laps movie was a big boon to my cloud watching. I saw a certain phenomenom in the clouds but when I first saw a time lapse movie of clouds I said ‘that’s it !’ Take note. Clouds appear and disappear. And I tried to visualize what was happening in the unseen ocean of air to cause that. hummmm on the ocean, white caps appear and disappear. Watching a time laps of clouds looks like watching white caps on the water.
Whoa. Visualize. Here is a person that is five foot four. God made Eve seven feet tall. So here is this little bitty lady standing in this seven foot aura – well the aura sriveled up too so it is now only six feet, here is this lady five four standing in the cloak of her seven foot prototype and we call her pretty, beaming, radiant, lively . . . in truth a pathetic sriveled left over remnant of the Eve that God made ? . . .
Now how about my idea? God sent Moses up the mountain and later when He was reminding Moses to make the tabernacle He said ‘remember to make it just like the blue print that I showed you when you were on the mountain." Moses was out in the middle of no where and there were no electric lights – in fact there was nothing but ... he had a view that most people now adays have never had, will never have, of the . . . Am I suggesting that the blue print for the tabernacle was in the stars? Why did Josephus say that the veil of the temple had the constelations of the zodiac embroidered on it? The Bible says cheribim.
I am still trying to visualize a 3D wave. A generation or two ago they decided that there is no medium that light ‘waves’ travel through. Mostly because they could not detect it. Now they are visualizing it again, or trying to. I used to think that light was energy. Now they say that it is matter – it is affected by gravity. . . I tried a grid of black holes, verryy veerryyy small ones that pulse as the wave goes past.
