Speedy Gonzalez

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4617466.stm

The announcement, in July last year, created a flurry of excitement, but was then promptly dismissed by a second team of researchers who re-dated the rocks at 1.3 million years old, impossibly ancient to bear human traces.
the announcement of 40,000-year-old footprints from Mexico was greeted with scepticism and caution.

More controversial still are the dates. Colleagues of Silvia Gonzalez at Oxford University used a technique called optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) that records the last time rocks were exposed to sunlight or heat. That gave a variety of dates from the overlying sediments, but when applied to small fragments of what looked like brick or burnt clay within the volcanic ash, it produced a date of about 40,000 years. it fitted in with dates of up to 38,000 years based on carbon 14 in shells in the sediments above.

Paul Renne of the Berkley Geochronology Center in California published dates for the volcanic ash itself based on the powerful argon-argon technique. That gave an age of 1.3 million years

there do not seem to be the signs of erosion and weathering that would be expected if there had been a gap of more than a million years between the ash and the overlying sediments. Gonzalez

the magnetic polarity was the opposite of the Earth's present magnetic field. The last time the Earth's magnetic field had consistently reversed polarity was about 790,000 years ago, so the fact that we found reversed polarity magnetisation in this rock tells us that it's older than 790,000 years Renne says

Silvia Gonzalez' view? "We know that there are short-term 'excursions' of the magnetic field, and one of those happened 40,000 years ago, very interestingly."

"I'm not averse to the idea of 40 000-year-old people in the New World - but I'm skeptical because we've been fooled before. We want to see it confirmed with all the evidence laid out so that we're not buying in to something that isn't there." Professor David Meltzer, from Southern Methodist University, Dallas

Don’t confuse me with the facts.

Me mind ISSS already made up ! !

A little argument - 30,000 years – No! 1,300,000 is irrelevant. 30,000 plus or minas 1,270,000 years – not bad aver ages ….. Evolution IS a fact.

“Powerfullll argon-argon technique” my foot ! EVERY one of those dating methods have the same basic challenge with their major premise, NO one knows what things were like at the beginning of the experiment !

It is all by guess and by golly !

Wow ! “We want to see it confirmed …”
That is what I have been saying for YEARS and YEARS now; “with ALL the evidence laid out” !! Yes, And a little bit of proooooof ! !
There is NOT an evolutionist alive today – nor was there ever – who would deem it a fair trial if they were put away for life in the slammer on evidence like they themselves use to claim that evolution IS a fact.

Not one !

What can an hour studying palaeomagnetism, cosmogenic nuclide, biostratigraphy and Quaternary science do for a person?

Reinforce the assertion that science, certain scientists, do not know what they are talking about - professing themselves to be wise they become fools.

“Science as something existing and complete is the most objective theory known to man. But science in the making, science as an end to be pursued, is as subjective and psychologically conditioned as any branch of human endeavour.” Peter A. J. Englert Faculty of Science, Victoria University of Wellington, Kelburn Parade, Wellington, New Zealand.

This is quite an amazing statement. “The paper describes and tries to understand the development of cosmogenic nuclide research at its beginnings with a brief look at the history of cosmic ray research.” This is one of the methods used to try to find the relative ages of things and to find the age of everything. To say that “science in the making … is as subjective and psychologically conditioned as any branch of human endeavour” is to say that the concept of evolution does NOT have a leg to stand on ! ! and then another ! for good measure ! All the facts are NOT in, in the theory of evolution ! ! It is NOT case closed ! !

Accuracy and precision are not the same thing. It is above all important to be accurate, and then to be as precise as possible. The search for accurate dating techniques still goes on, as does the refinement of existing techniques to improve their precision. What time is it? Noon. Well, Is that noon sun time where I am, or noon GMT; is it noon, or is it ten minuets one way or the other?

There is a star. Or is it a meteorite? Or a comet? Or a ‘wandering star’, planet? Or a …
Oh, it IS a star? How far away? A billion. Now is that a billion or is it a billion plus or minas fifty percent ? Is that a billion at the current rate of the speed of light or …

Evolution is based on the subjective psyco supposition that there is no God. Lots would say that religion is as subjective and psyco as they come – Karl in all his wisdom said that religion is the opiate of the people (and for lots of people that is true)

BUT if the Bible is accurate God IS. Here. Now.

Suppose that one day you do meet Him. Ask Him where we all came from.

This morning
About fifty geese together in a field
The same herd of deer in the same place but I only saw five
At Deermeadows golf eight deer

So I try to make a comment on someone's blog - I seem to never be able to get these things to work and I am supposed to be working in the computer industry !

Thanks for the birthday wish on Wrose blog, Beadbrat.

update

Make that

I saw deer 9 times ttl
for a ttl of 69 deer

And this morning I saw the same herd that I saw yesterday morning, again, in the same place.

I was commenting that in all the time since I started working for this company I have seen only one rabbit out in the country. But I have seen any number of urban rabbits. There are/is one or more that live/s in the parking lot at work.

I was very interested in the videos that elephants took of tigers recently. Since it is very difficult to get close to tigers they decided to use elephants to deploy the cameras, hidden inside fake tree stumps and rocks. The elephants can get very close to the tigers without causing the tigers to shy away so they were trained to leave the cameras behind when they came across any place where there were cats.

Watching wild life first hand is for only a small percent of us. I am happy that I get to see as much as I do. We have bird feeders out on our back deck at home and it is so nice to see all the birds that come. Chickadee, several kinds of sparrow, bluejay, red pole, three kinds of woodpecker, magpies, now starlings, and once in a while several others.

the best Mom ! !

Willena IS The Best !

This time of the year is good. This and the fall. Good in a number of ways but this morning I have one thing in particular in mind. I travel when the sun is either getting up or going down.

Last night I was doing some shopping in the city so I left later than usual so the sun was getting on in the process of setting and I was rewarded by ...

First at 'Deer Meadow' golf not far from the city, there were three deer. Then there were nine other places along the way where I saw deer, for a total of 65 ! The most in one place was 15 and that could have been 17 but I count only what I can confirm, by then it was getting to dark for the binoculars.

This morning - the sun was just getting up - there were 15 more.

We have seen geese flying about last week and this morning there were 25 or so parked by the dugout where I see the huron and two other smaller flocks flying closer to the city.

Anono

To My Anonymous Friend

A week ago I posted about my meeting with Nathaniel's teachers and a man from Barrhead, regarding assessments that were done on him in November. Saturday evening someone posting anonymously, commented on that post by saying...

'Does he have some mental challenges or has this problem come from the fact that he was poorly home schooled? Sad to read something like this when a parents responsibility is to give as much as possible to your children to help them better their lives so they don't have to live in the mistakes of their parents.'

Giving my anonymous friend the benefit of the doubt, and assuming s/he is not insulting our homeschooling efforts or Ian's and my parenting skills... and assuming others who don't know us might be wondering the same thing, I am attempting to answer the question in a new post...

Anono is quite fortunate in picking on Willena rather than yours truly.

Foist I has problems with anono critics.
Second I has problems with unfeeling comments.
Thirds …..
Well you get the picture.

Willena is so good.
She is so considerate.
She always sees the best in peoples. “They didn’t really mean it the way it sounded.”
She is intelligent.
She is a good teacher.
She loves life.
She LOVES her children ! !

Sheesh, Anono, couldn’t you have re read that and askkkededd your selfs “is this something that I would NOT like to receive ? ?

I has a quest.
Who decreed that “a parent’s responsibility is to give as much as possible to your children to help them better their lives so they don’t have to live in the mistakes of their parents” ? ?

What is better?
How do you know that you made a mistake ?
How do you know what is the best way for your child to learn?
Did you ever hear the song “a boy named Sue” ?
Have you ever heard a very rich parent declare that all his money will go to charity and his
children will have to learn to make their own fortune if they want one?
Do you know how many of the “nobility” of a few hundred years ago could not read or do math?
What makes reading and doing math superior?
How many university professors do you know who have amassed a personal fortune let alone
moved up to even the middle, middle class.
So what IS important to learn ? ?
So my children get a 'good' education, which is more important – learning achedemia or learning to love people ? Learning to be sympathetic to their feelings? What is the hurry ? I have heard of people 80 years old learning a new language.

So far Nathaniel Loves people.

Isn’t that a good enough place to start ? ?

You mean you didn't even watch Bambi ??? What kind of parents did you have that they made the mistake of not making you watch that?? You might have learned something ...
"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all", Thumper.

the simple question - "why does it seem that Nathaniel is having troubles?" would have been MUCH better !

nothing = nothing

Word a day
speciesism (SPEE-see-ziz-uhm,) noun

The assumption of superiority of humans over other animal species,
especially to justify their exploitation.

[Coined by psychologist Richard D. Ryder (born 1940) in 1973. From Latin species (appearance, kind, form), from specere (to look). Ultimately from the Indo-European root spek- (to observe) which is also the ancestor of such words as suspect, spectrum, bishop (literally, overseer), espionage, despise, telescope, spectator, and spectacles.]

"At one point in Darwin's voyage to South America, James Moore told me, the naturalist stopped in Brazil, where his blood ran cold to see slaves in manacles being tortured by Catholic traders. Darwin was enraged as a Christian, but also as a scientist, because he recognized that the slave trade relied on the false notion that slaves were a different, inferior and exploitable species.
"Upon his return to England, Darwin extended the idea to the way people treated animals, an early precursor to Richard Dawkins's argument about speciesism. 'To say man is the pinnacle of creation and all things were created for him ... Darwin says that is the same arrogance we see in the slave master,' said Moore."

Shankar Vedantam; Eden and Evolution; Washington Post; Feb 5, 2006.

So what did Charlie do about it?

The most un-christian thing that he could have done. Instead of agreeing with God that he was every bit as bad as the slave traders, as deserving of eternal incarceration as any one of them and indeed every one else, and begging mercy from God; he distained what Christ did.

So what do we do?

We exploit the notion that all life is equal and bring down what really is at the apex to the level of a random act of chance. We are each an ignoble pile of crap – worth less than a single quark. Face it, if God is not the creator of everything (but Himself) there is no cause for anyone to feel lonely or worthless. You really ARE O with the line erased ! Stop trying to find a meaning to life – there is none.

If you look in God’s book of death you will not find the name of Jesus there. He did not die as Himself. Your name will be entered in the book if and when you appropriate His death as your own. That is THE only way that there is ANY possibility that a new name could EVER be listed in the book of life. ‘I am crucified with Christ never the less I live’. When I begged mercy from God and I died, He recreated me with a brand new start all over again life – and a new name. I owe Christ everything.

Had Charlie been a Christian he would have known that evil is real and anyone who has Not been ‘born again’ is it. We can be because God made us morally responsible. Without that capability there would be no such thing as love ! How much love could Charlie have had for God when he didn’t think that what Christ did was worth it? On what basis could Charlie have been so enraged. He himself originated the idea that we are all less than nothing, being nothing but a meaningless glob of glop. Charlie must have had some left over remnant of some kind of moral conscience to be able to feel rage – BUT WHERE did he get it from ? ? ? When he dreamed up evolution he erased the possibility that there are degrees of good better or best or worse and worst – didn’t he? Of course he did. How could any one honour him with the title Christian? Christian MEANS that there ARE degrees of better and best and that God was on top and then those of us who are created in His image ! Charlie called it arrogance “to say man is the pinnacle of creation and all things were created for him” BUT where did Charlie get the authority to call me arrogant? I MUCH agree that the world and all that is in it IS NOT for us to exploit but I DO NOT agree with Charlie when I agree with that statement !

Think about it. Charlie had no basis whatever for using the concept of exploitation. If and since everything is nothing – even using the word evolve is nothing but using a warm fuzzy connotation that is itself meaningless. NOTHING has evolved ! ! If evolution is true then it does not exist. Last time you used the word you thought of it as meaning “getting better” or “getting more complicated” or “growing” or any combination of the three, didn’t you? WHY?

God provided the only rational behind thinking and feelings. It is not arrogant to believe that God made things the way that they are. God is NOT responsible for man’s inhumanity to man – or inferior life forms. He is responsible for love. Without moral responsibility you would be a non feeling autonotron, is that what you want? It certainly is not what God wanted.

Close to Pi Day

Today is Pi Day 3/14

The most recent attempt, by a Japanese computer scientist in 2002, found 1.24 trillion digits of pi. To put all this in perspective, even an astrophysicist, attempting to measure galaxies, would never need more than 10 or 15 digits of precision. But pi beckons us on further. Some mathematicians believe that if we could only find some pattern in pi, even some hint that there were more fours than sevens, it could lead to a huge breakthrough in our understanding of the universe.

The late physicist Carl Sagan, in his novel Contact, imagined a time when Earth scientists were sufficiently able to unravel enough of pi to find encoded messages from our creators-messages that would allow our primitive race to leap into a greater universal awareness. After all, if you were going to hide a long numeric message in the very fabric of our reality, pi would be a natural place to do it.

Voila, ever read the Bible Code? There are those who would say that there are lots of encoded messages in the text of the Bible - if you string together all the Hebrew words with no spaces and then pick out every fourth letter, every fifth and so on.

Then of course there is the "Language of God". DNA. 3 billion letters or so. And what do we find encoded there? Isn't it funny how Carl Pi gan could dream of finding an encoded message in Pi and yet he had no room for God. At least one guy, Collin, had the brains to figgure out that the DNA code did Not just happen. It really is a message from God to us - Each of us.

I like the response of one university lecturer to a question. (in my own words) A lady asked how can I feel worth anything when there is so much anti feminine in the Bible? " You do not believe that there IS a God. Since you are just random chance you have no have no basis to expect to feel worth anything - what was your question again?" He went on to clarify that in fact there is very much in the Bible that makes a woman worth something - which is NOT found in any religion outside of true christianity. Jesus thought that you were worth dying for.

So while you eat your Pi e today think about big numbers and codes.

"primitive" ? ? ? What IS he talking about ? ? ?
